
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) has awarded multiple grants for high-speed internet investments in Cambria County, Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) announced today.
“In the digital age, internet connection has become a necessity to access many essential services,” said Langerholc. “The funding from these grants will help bolster high-speed internet accessibility in our community by aiding in the establishment of broadband-equipped community centers and expanding access to information, education, healthcare and more.”
The following grants were awarded in the 35th Senatorial District:
- Bishop McCort Catholic High School will receive $897,612.05 to construct the Bishop McCort Catholic High School Technology Innovation Center.
- Cambria Library Association will receive $2,000,000.00 for renovations to broadband-equipped work areas.
- Gallitzin Borough will receive $942,564.00 for renovations to the Gallitzin Public Library’s mixed-use community building.
This funding was made available through the federally backed Multi-Purpose Community Facilities Program.
