Langerholc Announces Funding for Water System Improvement Projects throughout Bedford and Cambria Counties

HARRISBURG – Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) announced today that funds were awarded to local communities in the 35th Senatorial District. The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) awarded the funding in the form of low-interest loans and grants.

“Investing in reliable water infrastructure is essential but very costly for our local communities. This PENNVEST funding is crucial in maintaining a reliable and safe water system for our residents,” Langerholc said. “It will also ensure that user fees don’t increase dramatically to pay for these improvements.”

Sen. Langerholc explained that the funding was provided for the following three projects:

  • $1,447,500 to the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Bedford – Leaded Joint Cast Iron Water Main Replacement Project
  • $2,071,375 to the Ebensburg MA – High Street Waterline Replacement Project
  • $2,242,000 to the Nanty Glo Water Authority – C.I.P. Water Line Replacement Project

The state’s PENNVEST Program provides low-interest loans and grants for the design, engineering and construction of drinking water distribution facilities, stormwater conveyance and wastewater treatment and collection systems.
