Sen. Wayne Langerholc: Johnstown Area Students Will Benefit From Career Training As a Result of State Grant to GJCTC

Senator Wayne Langerholc Jr., (R-35), offered the following statement on the announcement of a $200,000 state grant to the Greater Johnstown Career & Technology Center (GJCTC).  The grant will be used to continue supporting its workforce teaching model, Learn Where You Will Earn, which helps students supplement classroom learning with skills obtained in a business setting.

“I’m so pleased that more students in the Johnstown area will benefit from this cutting-edge initiative of GJCTC, which promotes partnerships with schools and employers by extending learning outside the classroom and into the workforce,” Langerholc said.  “As Chairman of the Senate Education Committee, I see the need for students to be trained in these specialized areas so local employers can fill the open jobs with well-qualified individuals.  I’m glad that state government is promoting this innovative program and applaud GJCTC for its leadership in helping our students succeed.”
